Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack
The video game is split up into two modes. Story Mode and Battle Mode. The Story Mode is a 3D action shooter game similar to the Z-Gundam game for Playstation. Each level has it's own de-briefing In battle mode there are two ways of playing. 1 vs CPU and 1 vs 2. The screens are vertically divided NOT horizontally. The Graphics look very nice but they are all missing one thing. Backgrounds. Pitch Black with a graideant horizon just doesn't cut it. I believe these new Gundams look better than the ones in Z-Gundam. Sunrise made good use of texture mapping. The following Mechs are in the game: RX-78-2 Gundam MS-06S MS-14S MSN-02 RX-93 The CD (CDs?) should be full of DAM (Digital Animation Movie) which is basically just FMV. Whats the difference between DAM and FMV? Well DAM is basically CG backgrounds sythesised with a Cel. The resulting collage is very eye pleasing. This game also has a cool feature called RVC (Real Visual Cut-in). What happens is the game is split up into two areas. One is the real game. And the other is a small FMV. Another feature is BNS (Battle Navigation System). This feature enables the player a number of enemies in 3D space realization.
